Book Production and Distribution

WHAT IS IT?

We're actively looking to work with an organisation to write a book that'll be taught in schools across the country.

Alongside co-writing the bestselling "Positive Economics" for Leaving Certificate Economics, Susan HayesCulleton has written two books for Transition Year (TY) students, namely "Money Matters" and "Engineering in the World".

"Money Matters" is a ready-to-go learning package offering an opportunity for TY Students to learn fundamental life skills relating to financial literacy. "Money Matters" helps students learn about saving, investing, enterprise and general money management.

Meanwhile, "Engineering in the World" is the first in a series of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) books that offer an opportunity for TY students to learn fundamental life skills relating to the world of STEM. Co-authored by Susan and Marguerite O'Sullivan, "Engineering in the World" help students recognise engineering in everyday life, learn how engineering solves common problems and explore the exciting variety of careers open to engineers.

WHO DOES IT SUIT?

This service is ideally suited for companies and organisations passionate about enhancing education and making a tangible impact on students' lives. For those who fervently believe that financial literacy and STEM education or another subject should be integral parts of the school curriculum, our service provides a meaningful way to contribute. this initiative offers an opportunity to make a significant educational impact, directly benefiting students and supporting teachers with quality, ready-to-use learning resources.

By supporting the production and distribution of books, clients can contribute to causes close to their hearts, such as promoting financial savvy and encouraging interest in engineering among young learners.

Additionally, stakeholders, such as our class set book sponsors, play a crucial role in this journey. They help foster the intellectual development of the next generation, ensuring that vital subjects are taught in schools. Without the creation of these books, these sponsors would lack the means to participate in such impactful educational endeavors.

“THANKN YOU SO MUCH SUSAN FOR THE FANTASTIC DAY! THE TEAM REALLY ENJOYED THE DAY AND THE PROGRAM WAS VERY WELL ORGANISED”

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

For students: We want to deliver educational content that is valuable to the students and equip them with the employable skills they need in their future careers. We also want to highlight how some academic skills can be directly transferrable to life skills, such as investing in the stock market or finding the best student loans and that some careers are far more exciting than the theory might seem, e.g. engineering. Moreover, our books also help to showcase the great tools that are out there already, such as interactive explainers, teach real-life theories that offer rich learning, like 8 Wastes of LEAN manufacturing, and offer insights into stories that raise awareness about lesser-known careers.

For teachers: Our books offer guidance to teachers to teach subjects in schools that are often overlooked, e.g. financial literacy and engineering. As these subjects are rarely taught in schools, teachers might struggle to find classroom materials. Our books can provide teachers with interactive tools to help them engage the students. We also connect the teachers with the industry. Both Money Matters and Engineering in the World highlighted different people in a plethora of industries, particularly through the interviews we conducted.

For companies and organisations: We're producing value for companies and organisations that want to be part of reforming the Irish education system by allowing them to produce and distribute the books with us. Writing a book not only helps the companies and organisations to connect in with the community and bring subjects like financial literacy and STEM to life for the younger generation.
